Frederic Dumont’s debut feature about a family trying to deal with a severely depressed father is partially based on his own experience, which explains the intense honesty it exudes. In sunny Morocco, by the beach, Louis and his older brother Quentin are living a carefree life with their mother Marie and father Bruno. Until one day, the manic-depressive Bruno confides in his young son that he wants to kill himself and makes Louis keep the secret. Too young to comprehend the message in its entirety, Louis’ intuition guides him through the shock and he does all he can to not let his father slip away. As he deals with doubts, responsibilities and thoughts he never knew existed, Louis practically grows up overnight.
